The Spur
Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg are only about 5 miles away from each other. Or, 17 minutes if you prefer to base it on time.
A scenic roadway nicknamed The Spur separates the two towns. The Spur cuts through the thin stretch of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park that divides Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. This route is a continuance of the Parkway that runs through both of the towns, but the nickname helps you geographically determine where you are.

The Difference Between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg
From the outside, it may not look like there is much of a difference between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Yet, once you are there, you will discover that there are two different experiences to be had in the respective towns.
